My work is abstract because I want to create objects that are engaging in their own 
right – rather than a representation of something that already exists in the world. And I 
believe that ambiguity is essential to art. Ambiguity captures the imagination and draws 
people in.

Sculpture is my favorite medium because of the advantage of three dimensions. I have 
been influenced by contemporary artists such as Anish Kapoor, Dale Chihuly and Mary 
Oros, who all create colorful, abstract organic forms
