While living in New York City, he studied at The New York Studio School while living in New York City. Later he did a deep dive into casting through \u003cbr\u003eclasses and workshops at 3-D Atelier in Austin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAfter mastering casting in traditional molds like silicone and fiberglass, Lee began experimenting with casting in fabric molds. This process allowed him to achieve the organic, flowing forms he was seeking. The fabric reacts in unpredictable ways to the weight of the plaster, and the result is that each piece is unique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eLike most artists, Lee needed a day job. He worked in advertising agencies in New York, Houston, Dallas, and Austin. He also taught at Concordia University for six years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eArtist’s statement: My work is abstract because I want to create objects that are engaging in their own right – rather than a representation of something that already exists in the world. And I believe that ambiguity is essential to art. Ambiguity captures the imagination and draws people in.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSculpture is my favorite medium because of the advantage of three dimensions.
