Heather Parrish explores the fluid, porous boundaries between environment and inhabitant, questioning the very mechanics of space and containment.

Rooted in a heightened sensitivity to "self and surrounding" born from a nomadic childhood spent traversing Southeast Asia and the American South, her practice treats borders not as firm or fixed lines, but as dynamic sites of physical and emotional exchange.

Parrish expands traditional printmaking into a layered, interdisciplinary inquiry that incorporates video projection, animation, and light-responsive installations. Utilizing a delicate material vocabulary of translucent veils, skins, layers, and screens, she mirrors the somatic filters through which our bodies experience the world. Her evocative art investigates the deep psychological pull between opposing human desires—the comfort of the secure "nest" versus the vast freedom of the "universe".
