Joan Winter received her MFA from Southern Methodist University, Meadows School of Arts in 1993, and previously worked in the field of space planning and design for major architectural firms in Texas and Louisiana. Joan lives and works in Dallas, Texas. She is a sculptor and printmaker whose work is grounded in a rigorous investigation of color, form, and process. Her extensive series of prints, including the Deep series, the Mafia Suite, the Medley series, Rise and Fall, and the Surimono series, demonstrate a mastery of complex, multi-color printing processes that few printmakers have equaled.
